High pressure pumps for misting systems: evaporative cooling, humidification and dust suppression
How a high pressure misting system works
A high pressure water pump for misting forces water through calibrated fog nozzles at operating pressures between 50 and 100 bar, producing droplets with a diameter below 10 microns. At this size, droplets evaporate almost instantaneously upon contact with the air without wetting surfaces or people, absorbing heat and reducing the perceived ambient temperature by up to 10°C.
The quality and consistency of the pressure generated by the pump directly determines fog fineness and system effectiveness: pressure fluctuations produce larger droplets, reduced evaporation and a significant loss of cooling efficiency. Our high pressure pump misting systems are designed to deliver pulse-free, stable pressure across the full operating range, ensuring uniform fog distribution at every nozzle point.
Applications of high pressure pumps in misting systems
Our Mixtron high pressure pumps find application across a wide range of environments and operational scales: outdoor cooling for horeca, recreational and sports venues, greenhouse and nursery humidification for microclimate control, dust suppression on construction sites, quarries and aggregate processing plants, odour reduction at composting facilities and waste transfer stations, humidification of industrial warehouses for the preservation of hygroscopic materials and precise humidity control in mushroom cultivation and cold storage facilities.
